Publish a Blog in WordPress - TypewriterWhen it comes to writing a blog in WordPress, you want to make sure you know exactly what you’re doing before hitting that publish button. It’s completely understandable if you’re a little bit nervous, but you can rest easy knowing that it’s a fun and stress-free process that will give you a beautiful looking post in no time at all.

According to learn.wordpress.com, the first thing you should do before you begin the process of publishing your first post is to make sure your website looks exactly how you want in order to make it stand out. This includes choosing a theme, enabling widgets and adding personal touches to really make it your own. After all, it is a reflection of your personality.

It is important to remember that you can publish both pages and posts (blogs), so make sure you select New Post and not New Page. Whatever you decide to post about is up to you; you can post a quick update about your day or a single picture, or you can go get really involved and post longer essays, photo collections and so much more.

When you post your blogs, they’re dated and appear in reverse chronological order. As time goes on and you continue to publish new posts, you will notice that older posts will get pushed down the page. You also have the ability to tag your posts based on the subject matter, and both you and your readers can use them to find exactly what you’re looking for.

There are a few different ways you can publish your posts; the easiest and fastest way is in your reader. To do this, you first need to sign in to your account and click on the New Post button located on the top right of the toolbar. After that you will be prompted to choose exactly what you would like to post (text, photo video, etc.) and then you are ready to start typing.

The first thing you should do is write a title, and make sure it’s something that will catch the reader’s attention. Next, use the body to write whatever your heart desires! Feel free to play around with formatting, and once you’re satisfied, throw in a picture. For your next step, it would be beneficial for you to throw in some tags, and after this has been completed, make sure click Publish Post.

The other way to publish a post is to do it from your dashboard by going to Posts and then Add New. The post screen will appear, and you can then use it in a similar fashion to a word processing software, but with more options. This option is best when you want to publish something that is a little bit longer or even more complex.

Once it’s time to start, you have the option of choosing between Visual, which will show you what your content will look like when published, and Text, which allows you to post and edit in HTML format. You will then want to add your media by dragging it in the box or using the Insert from URL option. The process to write and publish your post will then be the same.

So there you have it; publishing to WordPress is easy, fun and exciting! Follow these tips and you will be a pro in no time at all.
