That’s right everyone, the day of Thanks is upon us, and with it comes some of the biggest shopping days of the year. Of course, most of you are already running promotions (Black Friday all month long, end of the year clearance, etc.), but what are you doing to really make your brand and dealership stand out from your competitors this holiday season?

Leverage Football on Facebook

Let’s start by looking at one of the most popular things that Thanksgiving brings (besides food and great deals), football! Thanksgiving is a big day for football, so wouldn’t it be great to do a giveaway from your dealership for football tickets?

Not only are you using a trending tropic to gain reach, but with a simple sweepstakes form, you’re also collecting valuable emails to use for your retargeting efforts. If you run a campaign for Facebook for your Football giveaway, you can target in-market shoppers with a football interest. After the sweepstakes is over, you can take all those emails provided and create a custom audience to whom you can showcase your new models for 2017.

Display Inventory at Community Events

Second, it’s important to put your vehicles where the people are. What does your town have going on for Thanksgiving? Again, we can go back to the local football games, but a lot of other towns do Turkey Trot Fun Runs. Can you be there with one of your vehicles? Park it by the finish line and tell attendees to take a picture by your vehicle for a chance to win a prize. Even generating a great hashtag for these events can get your dealership trending amongst potential customers.

Market for a Cause

Finally, charity efforts are a beautiful thing to take part in at this time of year. Canned food collections are beneficial to those who need it, and can also help your dealership become more involved in your local community. By becoming a hub for people to drop off food donations, you’ll be at the epicenter of the cause, all while getting more foot traffic into your dealership.

It’s never too late to get creative with your marketing efforts, and Thanksgiving is a great holiday to start you off!
