Do you offer a first-rate mobile shopping experience? This does not mean a mediocre site that slowly but surely renders on a mobile device, but a real, first-rate mobile experience.

People are shopping via mobile phones at record levels. Black Friday 2016 was the first day in retail history to exceed $1 billion in mobile revenue. The high-speed accessibility of online shopping is driving more and more shoppers to the internet. So ask yourself, is your mobile site adaptive or responsive?

With more than half of web browsing coming from mobile devices, your pages should render the same on mobile as they do on a desktop. It was noted that at least 40% of sales on Black Friday this year were made on mobile phones.

Your mobile site should also exclude any third-party apps that break the consumer experience. Below you’ll find an example of a Value Your Trade tool on a dealership website.

When clicked on, the shopper is brought to a third-party site.

However, the third-party site does not allow a shopper to easily navigate back to the dealer’s website via the back arrow. This hiccup in the shopping experience can frustrate consumers, and in turn, cause you to lose out on a sale.

Today’s shopper will do (almost) anything to avoid having to make a phone call, and with faster and easier ways to communicate, they shouldn’t have to. Text and chat capabilities cater to the consumer who does not want to call, and overall leads to more conversions for you business.

Have you shopped your mobile website? Are you able to see what you want and maneuver through the site in a seamless fashion? Are you able to quickly get connected to a business representative? If not, then it’s time to reconsider the effectiveness of your mobile site.

2016 Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be behind us, but there are still many more holiday shopping days left so make sure you are mobile ready!
